Profile
Dr Timothy Matthews is an Australian-trained Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon with sub-specialty expertise in otology, hearing implantation, and lateral skull base surgery. His clinical practice encompasses simple ENT conditions as well as the full spectrum of ear and hearing conditions across all ages, including chronic ear disease, cholesteatoma, tympanic membrane perforations, and lateral skull base tumours such as vestibular schwannomas. Dr Matthews completed advanced fellowship training in Otology and Neurotology in Canada and pursued further refinement of minimally invasive techniques in Italy. He has a strong academic and teaching profile, committed to the education of all health practitioners including medical students and ENT surgical trainees. He teaches and examines regularly at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney and has convened multiple surgical education courses for allied health practitioners, doctors and surgeons at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.
